Review: Stripped Down by Bunnie XO

5/5
Bunnie XO has been teasing her tell-all autobiography for years and her book Stripped Down is finally released with no holds barred.
Wife of 3 x Grammy winner Jelly Roll, Bunnie XO has carved out her own career as a podcaster, presenter and social media star in her own right. Stripped Down looks at how she got to where she is now, from a teenage runaway growing up in Las Vegas with complicated family relationships to a savvy businesswoman with a multi-million dollar empire.
What is particularly striking about this book is that if you have any idea of the kind of person Bunnie is today, it seems beyond belief that someone could go through what she did and come out as such a caring and empathetic soul. Her good heart radiates from the page and she owns the situations where she has behaved badly and has learned from her mistakes.
After leaving home, Bunnie became a high-class escort in Vegas. If you’re a fan of the Dumb Blonde podcast, you might think you’ve heard it all before but there’s a surprising amount of stories she hasn’t previously shared.
The truly touching parts come from her description of her relationship with her daughter, Bailee-Ann. Bailee was seven years old when Bunnie married Jelly Roll, and they fought to get full custody of her. Despite her own trauma growing up, Bunnie has worked hard to ensure a stable and loving family environment.
While her marriage to Jelly Roll hasn’t all been plain sailing, it’s clear the pair are deeply in love and it’s refreshing to have the tough times shared to show how strong their relationship is.
Stripped Down is a raw and unfiltered look at the life of an incredibly resilient woman and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
